NYSEC Leader Anne Klaeysen urges the repassage and ratification of the Equal rights Ammendment
In January, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia reminded women that we are not included in the U.S. Constitution. The 14th amendment that has been construed to interpret corporations as persons, and allow them to make political campaign contributions, according to him, does not refer to women. Any protection afforded us comes through a decision made in a 1971 case, Reed v. Reed, which could easily be overturned. So, where does that leave us? Take it to the states and the streets, proclaim it from the platform: Itís time to revive the Equal Rights Amendment.
