Visit the Ethical Society Without Walls' new and improved Web site! It has the same address - www.eswow.org, but with a new design. Participating in ESWoW online discussion forums, taking classes on Ethical Culture and related topics of interest, is now a simple process.
ESWoW is a great way to let people who might not live near an Ethical Society with walls participate in an Ethical Culture congregation. Please consider who you know who might be interested in Ethical Culture and invite them to your Society if possible, and to ESWoW if not.
We continue with our Community Calls on the first and third Sundays of the month. This is a great way to have a conversation with Leaders across the Ethical Movement. All the information is on our updated Web site.
ESWOW Community Calls: Congregation, Platform and Meeting Combined
ESWoW Community calls take place on the first and third Sundays of the month at 12:00 Noon (PT), 1:00 pm (MT), 2:00 pm (CT), and 3:00 pm (ET). Calls usually last just over one hour, but please feel free to join for as long as you are able. For safety reasons, do not drive while participating in ESWoW calls. To join the Call dial 866-740-1260 (toll-free), and enter the access code: 5766842#.
December Call Topic: The Consider Humanism Ad Campaign
In November 2010 the American Humanist Association (AHA) posted a series of ads asking people to "Consider Humanism." To see images and videos of the ads and find more information about the campaign visit: www.considerhumanism.org
Randy Best, President of the National Leaders Council of the American Ethical Union said of the first sample ad:
"This ad's negative portrayal of Biblical religion may attract disgruntled people and money but it is not going to influence anyone to open their mind. These ads are not designed to bring out the best in anyone and do not represent the Ethical Humanist/Ethical Culture position."
What do you think? Join Hugh Taft-Morales, Leader for the Ethical Society Without Walls in our Community Call to discuss how we promote Humanism effectively.
January Call Topics: check www.eswow.org for updates.
