AEU PETITIONS U.S. TO POOL QUOTAS TO PERMIT FULL IMMIGRATION YEARLY

WHEREAS, the United States is a country that has been built on the immigration to its shores of peoples from other lands; and

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the United States to encourage the continued immigration to this country of desirable future citizens;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the American Ethical Union petition the appropriate agencies of the United States Government to liberalize the immigration laws by permitting full use of the annual quotas of 154,000 by a system of pooling the unused portions of the quota in any one year and/or in any other year, so that eligible and desirable persons desiring to emigrate to the United States may do so.
