WHEREAS there are forces at work in the United States deliberately trying to undermine the work of the United Nations and its Specialized agencies; and WHEREAS fundamental ethical values not only endorsed by the Ethical Movement but also approved by the larger community are being threatened by the above manifestations; and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the American Ethical Union reaffirms its faith in the constructive efforts that are being made through the United Nations and its specialized agencies and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in order to demonstrate this faith, the American Ethical Union urges its constituent groups and members to become aware of and to assess these disruptive forces and to counteract them by: 1. Developing additional educational programs and community projects in support of the aims of the United Nations and its specialized agencies; and 2. Strengthening the constructive forces already working to accomplish these ends.
