AEU SUPPORTS ORGANIZATIONS ASSISTING VICTIMS OF LOUISIANA'S WHITE CITIZENS COUNCIL

WHEREAS the present projects of the White Citizens Council in Louisiana and other Southern states to transport impoverished Negro families to Northern communities on one way tickets without plans for their future residence or employment is an unworthy and ignoble manipulation of human beings,

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the American Ethical Union urges its members to support organizations working to assist these new residents of Northern communities; and to combat the unethical approaches which led to these events by working to break the cycle of rejection, through acceptance of these fellow human beings.
