FEDERAL SPENDING PRIORITIES

WHEREAS, the Nixon Administration is requesting 99 billion dollars for defense this year, an increase of 15%, and

WHEREAS, 60% of the Federal budget last year went to military related programs, and

WHEREAS, the spiralling arms race, already in a state of overkill, squanders our resources at a time when the needs of the American people and others abroad are being neglected,

THEREFORE, we support a change in Federal spending priorities from military to civilian programs.
