HOME RULE FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

WHEREAS, Washington citizens have been granted limited home rule but still do not have voting representation in Congress nor control of their city's budget,

THEREFORE, be it resolved that the American Ethical Union supports granting the citizens of the District of Columbia the same rights of self-determination aid participation in setting national and local policies as is accorded to all other United States citizens.
