CONSUMERISM AND THE REGULATORY AGENCIES

WHEREAS, the individual consumer today is presented with adulterated food, misrepresentation of services as to scope and performance, and unjustifiable price-fixing and increases, and has not within his or her means adequate resources for remedying these abuses, now

THEREFORE, the American Ethical Union urges the creation of a Federal agency for consumer advocacy having as its primary function the protection of the consumer, and serving as a consumer advocate before governmental regulatory agencies and the courts and in the development and dissemination of information of interest to consumers.
