AMNESTY Hundreds of thousands of young Americans continue to suffer unjust penalties of imprisonment, exile and stigma for their opposition to military service in VietNam. The American People need reconciliation after the divisiveness of the VietNam war. The nation requires the full participation and contribution of all citizens, including those who refused induction, deserted, or whose opposition led to a less than honorable discharge. The American Ethical Union urges the President and the Congress to grant immediate unconditional amnesty to all war resistors. Based on a resolution originally submitted by Lloyd Marcus, of the Westchester Ethical Humanist Society, as an individual member.
