Randy Best, Leader of the Ethical Humanist Society of the Triangle in North Carolina, spoke on July 26, 2015 at the New York Society for Ethical Culture about “An Ethical Humanist Philosophy.”
“My Ethical Humanist philosophy sustains me as I confront life’s existential questions. Who am I? Why am I here? What should I do? Ethical Humanism provides me with a moral foundation and inspires me to promote the worth and dignity of others. Realizing that my own moral growth is achieved through relationships with others and working to provide everyone with opportunities to develop their full potential, I will share the building blocks of my Ethical Humanist philosophy and how it inspires me to find meaning and purpose in life.”
Since 2008 Randy Best has served as the Leader of the Ethical Humanist Society of the Triangle. Randy received a BA from Grinnell College and an MA from Harvard University. He is also a graduate of the Humanist Institute, a certified mediator, and a pastoral counselor. In addition to his work in Ethical Culture, Randy works at Duke University as the Administrative Director of the Physics Department.
