Professor Barbara Fredrickson, of the University of North Carolina, spoke on December 6, 2015 at the Ethical Humanist Society of the Triangle about “Positivity and Flourishing.”
Prof. Fredrickson is in the psychology department of UNC at Chapel Hill. She has received numerous awards for her work in positive psychology, including being identified as the 13th most influential psychologist alive today contributing to counseling psychology. Prof. Fredrickson has published Love 2.0 which emphasizes new ways to appreciate those small moments when we connect with others. She also has published a book titled Positivity which among other things asserts that positivity is more important than happiness.
