This Week July 25, 2021

Having just returned from Kansas City, Kansas where I officiated for my son’s wedding, this will be one of the more “short and sweet” posts to this space. Suffice it to say that a wonderful time was had by all and meeting our new family members was a lot of fun! We are now heading into Week 8 of the AEU Assembly and there are 3 events to join between today and Sunday. I’ve listed this week’s offerings below and if you missed any of last week’s events and would like to view them, Anna has made videos available for each session.

Here’s the list of last week’s presentations:

Tuesday, July 20, 8:00pm – 9:30pm ET: ETHICAL CULTURE: ITS PLACE IN CONTEMPORARY HUMANISM with Richard Koral — https://youtu.be/zOUc7O4c9_A

Thursday, July 22, 8:00pm – 9:30pm ET: ADDRESSING THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT AMERICA’S MONETARY SYSTEM Ellen H. Brown and Walt McRee — https://youtu.be/_gkb18E70tM

Saturday, July 17, 11:00am – 12:30pm ET: Pre-Business Meeting: Bylaws Amendments and Policy Changes with AEU Secretary (and Chair of the Policy Committee), Casey Gardonio-Foat

Saturday, July 17, 4:00pm – 5:30pm ET: Budget and Finance with AEU Treasurer, Tom Castelnuovpo

A reminder: if are you a Delegate to the Assembly this year you may want to check out this link to the Slideshow and the Partial Recording from the June 5th Delegate Training

Back to this week’s events. Please remember that you can view all of these events on the aeu.org website’s 2021 Assembly Calendar and links to the events are on the AEU Connections calendar so you can grab the Zoom link you’ll need when you need it.

Tuesday, July 27, 8:00pm – 9:30pm ET: REPRESENTING ETHICAL CULTURE IN INTERFAITH SETTINGS with James Croft — https://bit.ly/AEUAssemblySessions

We live in a multi-religious society and are members of a tiny, often misunderstood minority religion. How can we develop relationships with people of other religious perspectives while effectively representing our own? What unique voice does Ethical Culture bring to interfaith settings, and how can we use that voice to exercise influence? Who are we accountable to when we represent Ethical Culture in interfaith spaces, and how do we best fulfil our responsibilities? Through a series of case studies drawn from his own work representing Ethical Culture in numerous interfaith settings, James will help you navigate the enriching – but potentially treacherous – world of interfaith engagement.

Saturday, July 31, 11:00am – 12:30pm ET: MEET THE BOARD CANDIDATES – with Sue Walton, Chair of the Board Development Committee – https://bit.ly/AEUAssemblySessions

Saturday, July 31, 4:00pm – 5:30pm ET: BUDGET AND FINANCE with AEU Treasurer, Tom Castelnuovpo  – https://bit.ly/AEUAssemblySessions

Hope to see you sometime this week!
