Anti-racism opportunities

Thanks to my wife Ruthanne’s recommendation, I’ve recently finished reading Pauli Murray’s memoir, “Proud Shoes.” Murray was an amazingly talented individual who had a powerful intellect, deep commitment to ethics, and was fearlessly persistent in her drive for justice and equity. Murray’s story is also an all too familiar one: despite her many accomplishments she has been little known and grossly underappreciated. The makers of the documentary about Ruth Bader Ginsberg, “Notorious RBG,” have recently released a documentary about Murray and Murray has been the subject of a few articles in the New York Times in the last two weeks.

The familiar story is the lack of awareness of the accomplishments of Black individuals. And when we do not put time and effort into learning about them and expanding our understanding and appreciation of the stories and of the lives of those who lived them we miss out on multiple opportunities for moving toward a more anti-racist society. 

With that in mind, you are encouraged to participate in the AEU’s second offering of Anti-Racism Dialogues. Here’s the list of offerings:
