AEU Leadership Training Initiative Update: Adler Fund Report
The Leadership Training Initiative (LTI) is a is a comprehensive approach to leadership development for the Ethical Culture movement.
Utilizing competency-based education in a stackable credentialing model, the LTI is designed to provide robust training as a foundation for lay leaders, Ethical Culture Leader credentialing, and continuing education. This program is coordinated by the Union’s Leadership Committee and is ongoingly informed by individual and group stakeholder conversations, including listening sessions open to all Union members.
Between February 2024 and January 2025, the LTI accomplished a progressive rollout of limited workshops while rebuilding the Leadership Committee and preparing to professionalize the program and curricula later in 2025.
The Felix Adler Fund has historically provided vital funding for the training and certification of Ethical Culture Leaders by the American Ethical Union. The fund is managed by the New York Society for Ethical Culture Board of Trustees. This report concludes the funding period approved by the NYSEC Board of Trustees beginning in February 2024.
In addition to contributing funding for the Leadership Training Initiative, the Felix Adler Fund also supported the Visiting Leaders Bureau and Society consultations through January 2025.
