The American Ethical Union in Assembly recognizes the critical nature of issues in the Middle East, constituting a potential threat to World Peace. We call upon all parties to this dispute to enter into a dialogue to try to reach a peaceful settlement under which the valid claims of the Palestinian people for self-determination and a land of their own are recognized and the security of the State of Israel is guaranteed and its legitimacy as a government acknowledged by its neighbors.
