NY Honors Planned Parenthood

The New York Society for Ethical Culture presents the Ethical Humanist Award to Planned Parenthood: Still fighting for women’s rights after 100 years! Join the celebration on Friday, September 30 at 7pm.

The Ethical Humanist Award, established in 1970, is the Society’s highest honor. It recognizes an individual who has acted with extraordinary moral courage, without regard for the sanction or acclaim of his or her peers or of society, and whose actions have had broad humanizing implications. This is the first time the Award is being given to an organization, marking the moral courage and tenacity of so many who have worked for women’s rights.

7:00pm – Award Presentation Film and Panel discussion with prominent leaders in the field:
– FREE, Open to the public

The panel (“The Politicizing of Women’s Health and Sexuality: What Can We Do About It”) will include:
JENNIFER DALVEN – Director, ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project
SARA HUTCHINSON RATCLIFFE – Domestic Program Director, Catholics For Pro Choice
KATIE MCDONOUGH – Journalist, Fusion.net
DR. TANYA OHLY – OB/GYN, Representing Physicians for Reproductive Health
STEPHANIE TOTI – Senior Counsel,Center For Reproductive Rights

Accepting on behalf of Planned Parenthood will be Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President & Chief Experience Officer.

8:30pm – Reception: Catered by the Fortune Society’s “Culinary Team for Healthy Foods”
– $25 for Ethical NY Members, $35 for Guests
