AEU to #GOTV (Get Out The Vote) – Primary Season!

Dear Community,

Did you know that in the 2000-2022 U.S. elections, the average turnout rate for primary elections was just 27% of registered voters (and 60.5% for general elections)? The Ethical Action Working Team is calling on our movement to help us Get Out The Vote (#GOTV) this critical election year!

Voting Rights and Civic Engagement is our Ethical Action focus for 2024, and we are asking for your help with mobilizing voter registration and engagement campaigns in the coming months. With so many important issues at stake, we have both the opportunity and duty to translate our Ethical values into an informed vote. We encourage you to cast your ballot and help others near and far do the same.

With primary season upon us, please remember to:

1. Double check your voter registration if eligible;
2. Bring a friend to the polls for your local upcoming primaries; and
3. Help us get out the vote!

In order to #GOTV, AEU members across Societies are participating in postcarding and phonebanking in partnership with the Center for Common Ground. We are seeking to amplify our collective efforts, including volunteering with the League of Women Voters in voter registration drives.
