Statements about Humanism are a way of describing humanist ideas and humanist values. Three Manifestoes have been put forth to highlight the humanist life-stance, beginning in 1933 with the first Humanist Manifesto.
Randy Best, Leader of the Northern Virginia Ethical Society, will present this three session course. It will examine each of the Humanist Manifestoes, one in each session. It is not necessary to attend all of the sessions since each will focus on one of he Humanist Manifestoes. You do not need to register separately for each session. Registration will provide the Zoom link for all three sessions.
It is strongly suggested that you read the assigned Manifesto before the course session.

About Randy Best, Ethical Culture LeaderA life-long member of Ethical Culture, Randy was born in St. Louis and grew up attending the St. Louis Ethical Society where his parents were life-long members.
Randy graduated from Grinnell College, Harvard University, and the Humanist Institute. Prior to becoming an Ethical Culture Leader, he worked in Public Transportation and University Administration.
Since 2016 Randy serves as the Leader of the Northern Virginia Ethical Society. Randy is also current President of the National Leaders Council and chair of the Leadership Training Committee. Previously, he was Leader of the Ethical Humanist Society of the Triangle and the Ethical Society Without Walls.
Randy lives in Bethesda, Maryland and has four grown children.
