AEU 2022 Assembly Membership Committee Workshop: Organizational Transformation, Part I (Society Level)

July 21, 2022 | 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Are you concerned that your local Society has lost some of its vitality?  Would you like to explore some approaches for revitalization?  In this interactive workshop, we will review the key insights of a book by congregational consultant Alice Mann and then discuss how these ideas might be employed in our Societies.  The workshop will begin with a presentation and Q&A followed by small group discussion.

About our Presenters:

Dr. Carolyn A. Parker is an ethical humanist, who came late to the community, but is long holding in the beliefs and values that led her, finally, to the Ethical Society of Austin. She is an activist, with experience in advocacy at local, state, and national levels. Her education gave her a background in the liberal arts and social sciences, supporting her work in teaching, writing, and organizational management with an international perspective.

John Daken has worked for many years extracting ideas for innovation from the congregational literature. He is a member of the Washington Ethical Society and Chair of the AEU’s Membership Committee.

Chris Kaman is a retired Database Administrator.  He worked for UNC at Chapel Hill for most of his career.  He began attending meetings of the North Carolina Society for Ethical Culture in 1994, and has performed a number of roles both on and off of the board.  Chris enjoys geeky stuff, listening to jazz, walking, cooking, and napping.   His wife Jane, also retired, does quilt finishing as her retirement passion.  They have two grown daughters, and 8 grandchildren.
