


The AEU Leadership Committee is pleased to announce that Joe Farkas has been accepted into the American Ethical Union’s Ethical Culture Leader certification program.
Joe enters training with a Master of Divinity in Buddhist Chaplaincy and has completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. Joe is a member of the Chicago Ethical Humanist Circle.
Currently, Joe provides chaplaincy services to a hospital, rehabilitation center, and Health Services provider. In addition, he serves as a combat medic in the U.S. Army National Guard. Joe is interested in serving as the first Humanist Chaplain in the U.S. Military.*
The Leadership Committee is finalizing Joe’s AEU certification program. Joe is very interested in speaking at Ethical Societies and may be contacted by email.

Joseph Farkas is a Humanist Celebrant, Chaplain, and Military Lay Leader of almost 10 years experience in campus, hospice, and inpatient hospital chaplaincy. Today he visits patients of all faith backgrounds in the greater Chicagoland area at several inpatient hospital networks as well as serving as the full-time chaplain at the Chicago Ethical Humanist Circle. In his free time, he enjoys relaxing with his wife, exploring the city, and exercising.
