The Hart of Catering have been hired to provide the buffet style dinner for this evening. Arrangements have been made with Hart to provide assorted dishes to satisfy those with dietary restrictions. Hart has catered events at PES including the farewell luncheon for Hugh Taft-Morales. Kevin Hart the owner and his staff are great fans of Philly Ethical and contributors to PayItForward Philly.
Music for the evening will be provided by local Philly-based singer Lena Fine. Lena’s self-styled ‘soft indie pop’ music has taken a new life with a band of players that elevates her show with energy and emotion. Among her band of players is drummer, Olias Bendian, graduate of the Bergen Society’s youth programs.
Elliott-Black Awardee, Mike Huff, will be present to accept this trophy from the American Ethical Union which established this award to honor two highly esteemed movement Leaders, John Lovejoy Elliott and Algernon D. Black. Both were known for their personal courage and for going beyond the usual limits in their commitment to social justice.
Mike Huff is a criminal defense attorney practicing in PA, NJ and NY. He is known for representing high-profile clients in federal cases and pro bono clients like Black Lives Matters protestors and fair housing respondents in the 2020 Parkway encampments.
