1996 – Concern For Children In Poverty
Submitted and Passed by the National Leaders Council and the Board of Directors of the AEU on June 21, 1996
Given the increasing numbers of American children living in poverty, suffering from physical, educational, and moral deprivation, and given our concern for the human worth of all people including children, the National Leaders Council proposes that its Leaders and Ethical Societies begin programs of child advocacy, study, and community action to raise the living standards and humanize the psychological climate for as many children as we can reach. We intend to provide communication among Societies on these projects, as well as materials, publicity, and coordinated action.
