1996 – On the Legalization of Gay Marriage

The National Leaders Council of the American Ethical Union, meeting at Warwick, New York, on June 21, 1996, and The Board of Directors of the American Ethical Union, meeting in New York City, on June 22, 1996, unanimously passed the following resolution:

  We support the legalization of same sex marriage under state and federal laws.
