Resolved that within Ethical Culture’s religious context, we recognize same sex marriages as fully valid marriages.

When jurisdictions in which Ethical Culture Leaders perform same sex marriages do not recognize the legality of such ceremonies, we urge that such laws and regulations be changed. It is the responsibility of Leaders to fully disclose such lack of legal standing of Ethical Culture same sex marriages, and not to represent same sex marriages as legally valid.
